Here is a simple potato stamping craft for Winter that the kids will love!
Materials
- White paint
- Blue paper
- One potato (halved)
- Colored craft foam
- Scissors
- Glue
- Optional- twigs
Note: We used twigs for the snowman arms, but you could just as easily make them from paper. We also refrigerated our white paint overnight to make it cold. This tied nicely to the snowman theme and also added another great sensory element to the activity.
Method
I cut one potato in half, and that was perfect for us since I have two girls. Have the kids dip the potato in the white paint and then use it to stamp a snowman
Rosie and Jewel delighted in stamping their snowmen. They loved the potato stamps and had lots of fun stamping freely with them while their art was drying
Once their snowmen were dry we embellished them with shapes we cut from craft foam, and of course we added glitter!
My girls really enjoyed this craft, and we now have the snowmen festively hanging in our windows.
