Too bad Rosie and Jewel don't feel the same. The other day when it snowed the girls really wanted to go outside and paint the snow. That is when this idea hit me, and it was quite brilliant in that it allowed me to stay warm indoors while allowing the girls to scratch their snow play itch.
Rosie and Jewel love to paint the snow, so I knew they would love painting WITH snow. This snow paint is super simple to make and was tons of fun for the girls to create and explore with.
Snow Paint Recipe
- Snow
- Food coloring or liquid watercolors
- Containers
- Optional addition- Kool-aid powder to scent the paint
Instructions
Go outside and scoop up some snow. Then divide it into containers, add food coloring, and mix
The snow paint was really vibrant and melted as the girls painted, which created really neat swirling and blending effects.
The girls thought is was SO COOL that they were painting with snow. They painted and painted and had lots of fun exploring the icy cold texture of the paint, too!
You can also add Kool-aid if scent is desired.
That's it! Super easy, and lots of fun! Add a few brushes and the fun can begin.
Next time it snows why not bring a bit of the white stuff indoors and make some snow paint? FUN FUN!
