How to Make Rainbow Pumpkin Seeds that Glow-in-the-Dark
Materials
- Pumpkin seeds
- Neon paint
- Zip-seal bags
- Water
- A blacklight (optional)
Method
Pumpkin seeds can be used for all sorts of kids activities including arts, basic math concepts, and sensory play. Here are some of the fun ways that we have used them.
- Begin by adding the desired amount of pumpkin seeds to a zip-seal bag, using one bag for each color of seeds that you wish to make.
- Add 1-2 teaspoons of neon paint to each bag along with a bit of water. The water helps to coat the seeds in color while allowing you to use less paint.
- Seal the bags tightly. Then, mix and shake the contents until the pumpkin seeds are fully saturated in color.
- Then, open the bags and allow the seeds to dry for 4-6 hours.
