This is such a fun St. Patrick's Day craft for kids! My girls loved checking on their leprechaun traps once they were complete, too! Are you ready to see if you can catch a leprechaun?
LEPRECHAUN TRAP FOR KIDS
Materials- Construction paper
- Scissors
- Glue
- Tissue paper
- An empty carton or box
- Treasure
- Cotton balls
- A stapler
- Wiki Stix or straws
Method
- You will want to begin with an empty carton or box.
- Cut the top off of the box.
- Then, cover the remaining sides with green paper, leaving the top uncovered.
- Cut "a roof" from construction paper and attach it to the top of the carton, making a large "secret opening".
- Then, cover the roof with a final piece of tissue paper. This hides the trap while still allowing the leprechaun to fall through.
- Decorate the outside and top of the box using construction paper and whatever else you might have on hand.
- We made a rainbow using cotton balls, paper strips, and a stapler.
- You can use treasure coins or pennies to lure your leprechaun.
- We happened to have shimmer paper on hand and used that to make leprechaun coins.
- To make a ladder you can use paper, straws, wiki stix, or anything else that you might have in your craft supplies.
- After that your trap will be set & ready to catch a lucky leprechaun!
Not only will kids love making a leprechaun trap, but they will also love checking the traps to see if they caught anything!
